Since I am a raver and I do listen to techno/trance music quite often I usually Trance to it. Don't get me wrong I like other music to but raver music just makes me feel whole Shocked . Trancing has helped me a great deal with focus and even when I don't listen to my techno music I end up in a Trance if I am practicing psionics. The trance music helps me feel like everything is just energy ans is apart of me so I feel like I can move/bend , or do anything. Though thats not the case. But I think it does help.
I ramble so don't mind me.

Trances are not terribly useful in the long run. Your mind does not like to believe that what you can do in a trance, you can do in a conscious state so it's uses are limited. And if you can't stay grounded in reality while doing psionics, the skill is barely worth having. Meditation however (aka "observing ego" in the psychology community) is extremely useful and is the mechanism that allows you to learn to grow.

It is useful if you meditate correctly enough to get psi to flow, but I meditate not for psi, mainly just to review my life and what's to come.

Apollo: when you tried: you did it by yourelf or with a teacher or "guide"?

i applied meditation to moving objects. Like i would meditate, take note of my state of mind while meditating, then i would incorperate that into moving something. Works quite well. practice time is slumping alittle, so the only thing i have done that wasnt a psiwheel, is balance my pen on my phone and move it that way.
