To help battle fluff and general lack of caring, I've modified the forums to restrict how many posts everyone can make. The current restriction is set to 5 posts per hour, which I think is fair. I am hoping this will encourage people to think more wisely about how they use their posts. I'll probably be adjusting the restriction to either more or less (most likely less), depending on how this goes.

If you notice any bugs, please PM me with what you did, and what you expected to happen.

I have to say the idea should have been around before, and it's good, but godamnit the user above you in jail thread is screwed. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad It would also be nice if it were at more ike 10 posts per hour. Wink

i, like it! it means either a marked decrease in spam or people posting spam and then not being able to post anything else for a while as punishment.

Be glad it's not 8 posts per day. Laughing

That'd be torture...I myself think this is fine...I don't post that often anyways.

i was looking forward to increasing my posts ,but i think it would have been better if it was from the beggining of the forums appearance ,anyway it's temporary (the forums imean) ,and everybodys posts are going to be reset,i think it's for the best

I dont really like it, but its good to stop spam.
Can't you make it that the "user above you in jail" thread does not fall under this rule? j/k Smile

Renamed "quota" to "limit", because I've gotten multiple PMs and questions from people who think they MUST reach their quota every hour. This system isn't made to encourage you to post more... it's made to encourage you to post less, with higher quality posts! Wink

Ok so i'm on psipog often so.. if I really wanted to I can bag about 40 posts per day XD I like the idea though. It makes you really be intelligent and think about your posts alot more.

I think this is fair. I know that myself, I can't find 8 topics an hour that I really want to post in/have something to contribute to. That might just be me though...

I agree completely. I was also going to say that this should encourage people to make higher quality posts to make them worth while. And also I do agree that people should not try to make as many posts as possible. They should choose their posts wisely like I'm going to have to do, seeing as I only have four left!

Wow, 5? That's gonna put a limit on Apollo's spamness Razz

Eeh. just wasted one there >_>

It's going to make commenting and informational advice alot harder for the more informed members of the forum.
