I picked other because there's things a little child is too immature to properly use or cope with. Example: child telekinetically throwing crayons about class scaring teacher and classmates.

I'd teach my children when they were older and more responsible when it comes to things like telekinesis or telepathy. As for empathy I grew up naturally feeling others emotions so I'd have to teach my children how to shield young. Psychic abilities runs in the family so there's no way I won't help them a little.

I've edited my comment to include some more info.

I would tell them about the abilities. I would only teach them when I deemed them morally and personally ready. The necessary level of maturity may be obtained at a young age-10. This all depends upon situation etc. Hopefully If their father isn't a psion he'll atleast accept our people (I say this because you can't help who you love and I won't let my powers stop me from marrying the man I love).

I would teach them when they were young, because the young mind soaks things up easier... that is how some kids end up smoking when they are 12, they grow up with it.

I voted for teens but I'm planning to teach them when they're about 8 or 9 since they still have a bunch of creativity, they're maturing, know right from wrong and then they will have learned how to socialize without telepathy, empathy etc....

I've been thinking of making a thread like this for ages.

I'll tell/show my kids when they're young, but they'll probably see me using it anyway. (assuming I get better at it)
