Lately I've noticed many people have been posting about things that are already well documented, like hypnogogia and vibrations. Some of the other sections have basic information or links to articles in the form of a sticky. I think that the Dream Phenomenon section would benefit from this. Simple definitions of hypnogogia, Monroe's vibrations, and other experiences that are common to many people, so that somebody could just look there and go "Oh, that?s what that was" instead of posting a new topic about it. What do you think about this idea? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Thats the best I can do for now. Hopefully this cuts down on some of the posts about that stuff. |

Looks good to me. Dream phenomena isnt really my area of expertise, so perhaps some of the other members/mods would like to throw in their 2 cents ? |

The only complaint I have is your definition for the MILD technique. While the MILD technique does involve repeating to yourself that you will have a lucid dream, the reason it's called Mnemonic is because of the memory exercises that prepare your mind for the lucid dream. The memory exercises are essential to the definition, in my opinion.
Perhaps change: "This method is effectively repeating to yourself that you will have a lucid dream." To: "This method is effectively training your memory to prepare for a lucid dream, and then repeating to yourself that you will have a lucid dream before you fall asleep." Other than that, thumbs up. ~Sean |

The place I learned MILD was a little less in depth. Its rather funny actually. The only place I have ever seen those exercises with MILD was in that article, so I assumed that to the common man, MILD didn't need them. It seems that the information lost something in the journey across the internet. Seeing as that article was originally authored by the creator of MILD, I think it warrants a change. Although, even with the cut and dried lesser version of MILD, I have had results. It has been changed. |

I say put a sticky up with a link to a couple sites that have plenty of information. It should help eliminate redundant post. Heres a few I can help with...
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Lucid_dreaming http://www.ld4all.com/ http://unitedacademyofdreams.info/phpBB2/index.php http://www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk/ They all contain good information, especially that wikibook. It has pretty much all the information you will need on any aspect of the phenomena. ![]() |

This is the exact reason why I contacted the Lucidity Institute to get permission to post the chapter on MILD. DreamViews specifically has really hijacked the term and distorted the method. When I first read it, I couldn't believe they left out so much information. That's the reason it's called Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams. Because of the memory. ~Sean |
