Sometimes people just post a few or one word and post. Sure the limit of posting might make people think, but some people still don't instead of just saying to themselves "yep" or "nope". This might encourage people to add "yes, and then blah blah.", so we'll have a little bit more detailed posts. The downside I see to this is people going "yep................" which makes people look stupid on a good side.

Just throwing the idea out there as i've seen it on other forums and it solved alot of one word posts which really tick me off in my opinion.

That actually sounds like a good idea to stop one-word posts, i was thinking a 20 word or something like that minimum.

10 words would suffice it.

In a different forum I go to, they have a minimum 20-40 character post to get a post count up. Otherwise, you just dont get the post count increase, but it still posts. It works extremely well.

If it sounds nice, then why did you only post 7 in that post? Seems a little hypocritical, don't you think? ;-P.

I think the 5 posts/hour limitation does a pretty good job on limiting stupid posts, for the most part. A word count requirement would also help... but sometimes a short "yes/no" reply does make sense.
