I’ve found it is possible by trying to induce an OBE, then forcing myself to remain in body when the vibrations start. Though I don’t really find it very fun, I’d rather hump a landmine than get stuck in sleep paralysis sometimes, but I think it is an important state of mind to experience for anyone exploring dream phenomenon or altered state of mind.

It’s kind of hard to explain, but the best way I can put it is to try to work against the vibrations. Does that make sense? That’s the only way I can think to describe it.

Wait a second here....SP always starts with some sort of vibrations like being electocuted. And I always force myself against it so that leaves me for about 20 secs paralyzed. You mean that if I let myself go once the vibrations start... I'll OBE??? What do I have to do?

If that's the case, I've been dodging OBE's for 6 years without even knowing it.

Well, when I get the vibrations, if I ‘go with them’ I can OBE, but if I ‘go against them’ I can force myself into sleep paralysis. Sorry I can’t really explain it better than that. Hope it helps.

I understand you perfectly, the thing is that I find myself unable to move from the very first second I feel myself vibrating, is this normal? Or is there some sort of different vibrations when it comes to OBing, that you can stop them whenever you want? Cause I'm telling you once it starts, it's either a normal or a haullucinating SP.

Err, about sleep paralysis, can you move anything? I mean, can you close your eyelids so you don't get all these weird hallucinations? 'cause I want to have an OBE but I'm too scared of seeing a ghost or anything like that. (Yeah, I get scared too easily)

You need to overcome your fear of the unknown before you embark upon the journey to OBEs.

God, that sounded awful and fluffy. Razz

I try to induce sleep paralysis every now and then.

When I do it, essentially I lie down in bed, get comfortable, and then concentrate on nothing while simultaneously "projecting" my body downwards. If I do it right, this results in a falling sensation followed by a buzzing all over my skin and an inability to move.

Damnit, someone mind control me and add +40 to my fear protection, also, a psi potion and agility scroll would be nice. </fluff>

I've never had sleep paralysis, whenever I do any visualizing while lying down, I get the falling and rollercoaster sensations, but I can't paralize myself.
