Hard to take a movie as a example...seeing entertainment is just is...after all just entertainment (like the Da vinci code which some peope toke serious....really no expert believes in that).

Can't really take it as a example.....sadly to say judgement day may be the best example to use for this quesiton.

There is others, I know there is. But this problem can't really be solved unless its something BIG.

Well, yeah, it DOES depend on the scenario. But then again, nothing's perfect.

And also, there are countless variables for just about every major incident. Using Judgement Day from Terminator, destroying the labs was one big variable that got changed, but the people who crafted the SkyNet that caused Judgement Day in T3 were another big variable that wasn't changed. If that variable had been changed, another one would've caused Judgement Day.

We've been using simple examples to convey the point, but complicated scenarios (such as Judgement Day from Terminator) are complex problems with many, many variables. Some variables can be changed without affecting the result, while others will delay the result, and still others will stop it altogether. It really does depend on the scenario though.

A time machine would be awesome. So many things I'd change. on Sat Dec 30, 2006 4:51 am

Exactly. So, to find out once and for all, we need to get really good a precognition, RV'ing, and we need to invent a time machine. Then, we can test out all the scenarios, and when we're done, use the time machine to screw with people in the 1700's.
