I believe you can't do it, because there's like some doubt left in your mind. It is somewhere deep deep deep in the back of your head and has been strengthened in your whole life and is very hard to get it into your consciousness, because it has been being suppressed subconsciously so much or being forgot. Well it doesn't have to be doubt, but something prevents you from believing 100% that you can do something that you want to do and that you will actually perform it.

It might be a subconscious thought too that could mean anything. Like you're too weak for doing that, you will cause terrible consequences for you or others or maybe that it isn't necessary. Actually in waking state it is very hard to be completely concentrated and feel all of you at once. Or nothing at all. It's hard to say, but the body is stimulated so much all the time, that you're subconsciously doing 1 million things without you noticing it. Anyway, trying to recall the exact feeling you felt in the dream and give in to it completely seems to be a good idea.
