Questions

september asks on June 8, 2004, 1:53pm:

Hello. Thank you for taking your time to read my question.

My friend is naturally precognitive. If I am to understand him correctly, he "sees" the future in the form of words - receives details about moments in time. Nothing big, nothing that ground-shaking - but it is ruining his life. He cannot control it, even though he tries. It is not so much the details he receives that are getting to him so much as it is the mental stress put on him. He says it saps much of his energy and does not allow him to concentrate on other things. His memory seems to be deteriorating. He feels like it is pushing other, more important pieces of information out of his mind. I have seen him have fits where his vision blurs, his energy is sapped and large chunks of his recent memory are missing. He says these have happened on and off since he can remember - as well as his visions. He feels helpless against this, feels like it is taking over.

I am very, very concerned about him, and so I ask - how can my friend attempt to control this? Many attempts to do so have been foiled by his incapability to focus well.

Thank you again for reading. I apologize for the length of my question.

Rainsong replies on June 27, 2004, 11:08pm:

Inability to focus well _will_ be a problem. That probably ought to be the first thing he works on.

That said, the usual ways of practicing precognition will help gain some control. For example, predict three headlines for the next day, then check the news the following evening. Try to predict, also, what the announcer will be wearing.

Jadoaus asks on June 12, 2004, 8:11am:

Hi. I just had an idea, and wondered what you thought.

Do you think it would be possible to use empathy to project emotions of caring, selflessness, etc (In other words, feeling for other people) on to someone like a sociopath/psychopath, to sort of "teach" or "help" them? Or do you think, such feelings not naturally occurring/ being very strong in them, it would just be sort of "incompatible" (go over their head)

(I do not study psychology or empathy, I'm not suggesting all MOD?s must become vigilante psychiatrists, I just thought about the some of the symptoms of the conditions and had the idea)

Rainsong replies on June 23, 2004, 6:04pm:

You can project all you like. If experiencing the projected emotions could help them, they wouldn't be sociopaths. In fact, some empath-folks are the very definition of psychopathy, even though they feel the emotions of everyone around them.

Kyuhan asks on June 14, 2004, 5:26pm:

Are there any training regimes you could recommend for honing the innate danger sense we all seem to have without actually being in danger? At times my town can get pretty harry, so improving in this area would help me greatly. Thanks.

Rainsong replies on June 23, 2004, 6:01pm:

Personally, I would suggest a combination of practicing short-term precognition, a bit of receptive telepathy to judge "intent" of possible assailants, and using the edge of your field to "feel" for disturbances.

Yuki_San asks on June 22, 2004, 12:03am:

Is there an article here about mind reading?

Rainsong replies on June 23, 2004, 3:26pm:

If by "mind reading" you mean mentalist tricks using psychology on stage, then, no.

If you mean actual "telepathy", there are several. They are in the section of the sidebar labelled "Articles". When you go to the article menu, click on the "Telepathy" section. You'll find that most of the Telepathy stuff is in the Telepathy section.

russian asks on June 19, 2004, 1:42pm:

Is there anyway in telepathy to brainwash or erase or alter someone's memory

Rainsong replies on June 20, 2004, 5:57pm:

Yes. However, that is _definitely_ in the category of "combat" and therefore not for discussion in this site.

Theotokos asks on June 18, 2004, 4:32pm:

Hi, I wanted to know if any of you have tried your own experiments in "Dream Telepathy"? I have read many articles and papers online of lab controlled "Dream Telepathy" experiments done by Krippner and Rhine, but, wanted to see if anyone in this forum had any success with Dream Telepathy using their own methods and can you describe the method in detail please? Thanks.

Rainsong replies on June 18, 2004, 8:11pm:

Tried it? Yes. Not much "detail" to describe. Think at the other person, either before s/he goes to bed, or while s/he is asleep....

Kyuhan asks on June 12, 2004, 11:02am:

Do family members give off similar psi signatures?

Rainsong replies on June 16, 2004, 8:36pm:

Sometimes, but not necessarily.

Liadan asks on June 15, 2004, 1:04pm:

Hi!
Well, it might be kind of a stupid question, but here's my doubt: what's the difference between precognition and clairvoyance?
Thank you in advanced,
Liadan

Rainsong replies on June 15, 2004, 7:39pm:

Clairvoyance is the psychical perception of data obscured by distance, time, or some other obstacle. Precognition is the psychical perception of data obscured specifically by time; the data is "from the future".

Silva_D asks on June 15, 2004, 3:05pm:

Hi, i want to ask you about the amount of time that is needed for several things.
First of all, nowadays i only need to concentrate on the psiwheel for about 3 seconds before it starts spinning, which i am quite glad about, however when I do psychometric and telepathic reading I just get a result too quickly and therefore I think I am imagining it.
Can someone with a greater knowledge on the buisinness help please??
thank you in advance

Rainsong replies on June 15, 2004, 7:37pm:

If you _don't_ get the answer "too quickly", you probably _are_ imagining it.

SirLightningHat asks on June 14, 2004, 9:14pm:

OK, sorry if these are obvious questions, but 1) what is the difference between a scan/probe and creating an actual link and 2) what kind of programming are involved in either of them?

Rainsong replies on June 14, 2004, 11:33pm:

1) A scan is any (usually cursory) "look" at something or someone, psychically. A "probe" is a deeper look, most often referring to telepathic activity, beyond surface thoughts. Both of these tend to involve some kind of contact. The kind of "link" you are most likely referring to is a more permanent contact. In some cases, _very_ permanent. Mindlinking is not something lightly undertaken.

2) None, unless you are using constructs to do it.
