Questions

Sparke_Plasma asks on February 29, 2004, 11:06pm:

Heh, Heh, Umm sorry for so much trouble, but I was wondering. You guys always tell precogs to keep a record of their dreams, but my precog it weird, most of the times I don't realized my dreams until the actual event happens and I sort of get a "flashback" so what am I to do about that?

Rainsong replies on February 29, 2004, 11:51pm:

That isn't actually so weird, at all. It is fairly common to not remember dreams unless prompted that way.

brokenfrog04 asks on February 27, 2004, 9:58am:

Has anyone ever heard of being able to see the future in dreams? I have a major tendency to dream an event or something and it actually happens. I.E: I dreamed my boyfriend at the time was going to slap me in our high school band room, well 3 weeks later it happened. Can anyone explain this to me? I don't know of anyone else this has happened to. Please let me know if you have had this happen to you.

Rainsong replies on February 27, 2004, 8:08pm:

Precognition in dreams is one of the most commonly-reported psychical effects.

Arystos asks on February 19, 2004, 9:12am:

Hi!

Concerning all the warnings you give about learning empathy and telepathy and never going to lose that ability: ActivePsy contains information about "shutdown" which should "deactivate" all active psi abilites on you.

Does "shutting down" not work with telepathy? Or is there another reason why ActivePsy and PsiPog seem to disagree?
Thanks in advance!

Rainsong replies on February 19, 2004, 8:30pm:

Excellent question. You will find that there are descrepencies between the trial-and-error methods of different people, simply because of their differences of experience.

"Shutting down" can be done, in most circumstances, by many people. However, not all telepaths (including empaths) have that option.

Arpad asks on February 10, 2004, 4:48pm:

Is it possible for Bipolar Disorder to increase sensitivity to Psionics as to Empathetic abilities?

Rainsong replies on February 10, 2004, 8:06pm:

Very unlikely. However, the disorder often gives the impression of doing so because the patient's own emotions are out of control.

ashkoven asks on February 9, 2004, 11:21am:

My little brother has a nasty habit of running out into a crowd whenever one is in front of him and can't always be stopped is there anyway to "tag" him so he is easy to spot? How?

Rainsong replies on February 9, 2004, 6:42pm:

Yep. Stick an inert construct to his field.

SKainuiG asks on February 5, 2004, 1:04pm:

Do most empaths try to learn bio-pk, or is it something that they can do or what? Cause it's like empathy is like a nose, people are almost good food, and a stomach is bio-pk. It seems useless to know if someone is hurt or if something smells good unless you can eat it or help them,... Right?

Peebrain replies on February 6, 2004, 12:40pm:

Heh... what an odd analogy...

Let's define some things so we're clear:
Empathy - In the psioinc sense, it means to feel someone elses emotions psychically.
Bio-PK - Influencing a biological system through psychokinesis.

What is empathy used for? Usually sensing what another is feeling. What is Bio-PK used for? Usually altering a physical trait of the body. Like blood pressure, or eye-sight.

Empathy is not only used to know if someone is hurt, it is used for other things as well. If the emapth finds an emotionally hurt individual, the empath sometimes doesn't want to help the person who is hurt. If the empath does want to help an emotionally hurt person, the easiest way would probably be to talk to the hurt person. Just interact with them, and talk things out. Bio-PK is more of a "I would like to change a feature of my body". Not really a "I would like to alter the emotions of someone else". Even then, if you find out that someone is in emotional pain, chemically altering their body to make the pain go away (which is what I would assume you're talking about, referring to Bio-PK) is only temporary. You can project "happy emotions" at a hurt person, and that can help them, but that's temporary as well. The best way to help, in my opinion, is to talk to the person about what is bothering them. If it is serious, get a psychologist. Get to the root of the problem, don't just try to force it to go away.

There's one link to get you started. You can find a lot of information on RV on the internet and in books... it's a pretty popular topic. Just look around.

SKainuiG asks on January 29, 2004, 1:13am:

While projecting things such as fruit, am I just projecting the image or am I putting information like texture, sound, taste, what I know about it like if it grows on a vine or a tree. Am I trying to put all that into one image, or just concentrate soley on puting the image down?

Yumper replies on January 29, 2004, 11:39am:

Using as many senses as possible can enhance the projection. If I am trying to send a lemon, but all I project is yellow and oval, my partner may not comprehend. If I include the sour taste and the sweet/acidic scent my partner will have more to 'work with'.

Koenma asks on January 26, 2004, 1:03am:

Do you have to be born with the gift of telepath and such or can you gain them through practice and training?

Rainsong replies on January 26, 2004, 8:59pm:

Folks with no prior evidence of "talent" for anything psychical have learned to use telepathy. Therefore, either they all had some kind of hidden talent, everyone has _some_ ability, or it can be learned from scratch. At this stage, there is not enough evidence to prove any of the three.

Waldo asks on January 24, 2004, 8:11am:

Dear Psipog,

I have been trying to do telepathy for a considerable amount of time, and I have had not had any conclusive results. I think I might have read this somewhere on one of the old forums, but I've forgotten now, so:-

1. Is it possible that I might have some sort of shield up that I don't know about stopping me from succeeding? (Neither myself nor any of my psionic friends have been able to sense anything.)

2. Might it be a problem separating other people's thoughts from my own? I frequently say and think things that other people say, often at the same time, but I don't perceive them as anything but my own thoughts.

If you think it could be one of the above, please could you give me some advice on getting round it?

Thanks for your time,

~Waldo

Rainsong replies on January 25, 2004, 5:55pm:

1) Possible, but exceedingly unlikely.
2) Separating other people's thoughts from one's own is the normal problem with telepathy.
