Phlagrat asks on December 27, 2003, 2:28pm:
I have heard of a technique called the psi/(Ki) punch where you basically send a psiball out of your hand as you punch. Have you heard of it? Is it true?
annie replies on December 28, 2003, 10:05pm:
Whatever floats your boat, man.
Yeah it's possible to send a construct whilst punching.
Ineffective and even silly, but possible.

SKainuiG asks on December 28, 2003, 4:06am:
Can using psi mess up your nerves or back, or even anything related like energy shortages and needing to become a psi vamp?
annie replies on December 28, 2003, 10:04pm:
I'm going to disreguard the psivamp business and just answer the rest of your question.
Yes, manipulating psi can cause nerve damage. Do not move it along your neural pathways. Please read Rainsong's article on this matter.
Stefox asks on December 28, 2003, 5:41pm:
I've read the Q&A and I kind of understand what 'oomph' is, but what is it exactly and how do I improve my 'oomph' level?
annie replies on December 28, 2003, 10:02pm:
I have sat here for 5 minutes and considered how to answer this question.
Is oomph like love, you know it when you have it?
I don't think so, no.
Oomph is giving that extra mile. The best metaphor I've come up with in these 5 minutes is long distance runners.
They push little by little, run themselves ragged, but once they see that finish line they just suck it up and sprint.
Interesting question. Thanks for making me think.

walnutgum asks on December 20, 2003, 2:20am:
is a shield like a psi ball? Can you program it to do alot, like keep away annoying people, good luck, block rain, be invisible. And if so, can a psi ball too?
Rainsong replies on December 21, 2003, 11:17pm:
Psiballs are primitive psionic constructs. Many kinds of Shields are also psionic constructs. Therefore, Psiballs have something in common with many kinds of Shields. Both constructs can be programmed to do an assortment of things, but the average newbie's Psiball lacks the "oomph" to accomplish much.

Harwin asks on December 16, 2003, 4:25am:
Hey, i tried making a psiball today. I was lying down in the bed, looking at the lamp visualising that the energy flowed from the lamp to my body.
Then i closed my eyes, and lifted my hands cupped and i visualised the power coming from my feet, arms, legs, everywhere and that it went from there up into my hands.
I did that for a while, maybe 1-2 minutes and then it felt like it pushed a little inside my hands and it felt quite strange at my wrists, like there was power around the wrists.
And the eyes started to flicker a little while i did it. It had no effect and it wasnt visible when i threw it, but do you think i was on my way making a psiball?
Peebrain replies on December 20, 2003, 3:57pm:
Sounds like you're getting the hang of it .
Keep practicing.
Nazariel asks on December 14, 2003, 3:32pm:
If you don't practice any kind of mainpulation, telepathy etc do you still need to learn shields? (I'm learning TK for now and I may learn the others after I'm quite adept at it)
Peebrain replies on December 20, 2003, 3:56pm:
You don't have to. You don't have to learn anything, really. But I think I get where your question is coming from - will you need shields from just practicing TK? Probably not. With TK, you are affecting the outside world, not being affected by the outside world (which is what shields are there
for). But if you start meditating, who knows what "doors" you'll open . So you never know...
alo_bco asks on December 18, 2003, 7:50pm:
I dont get the 'creating' a psi ball part, am i supposed to imagine it? I already read the peebrain notes, i even downloaded them but i still dont get it, my questions are:
1.- do i have to IMAGINE the psiball in my hands?
2.- how do i know i created one?
3.- how does it feels when i create one?
4.- how long does it takes?
5.- does the IQ affect something, I mean, do i have to be VERY smart to do it?
Peebrain replies on December 20, 2003, 3:53pm:
1. You don't HAVE to... but sure, try it out. Try visualizing (aka imagine) the energy moving around your body and into your hands.
2. At first it's kinda hard to know for sure. After a few times though, you start to feel it (like, you feel a warm pressence on your skin, for example).
3. Could be warm, could be cold, could feel pulls, or pushing... Just keep practicing and find out yourself what it feels like.
4. Some people get it their first try, most in a week or two, and some have never created one. So... try, and try, and when you get it, you get it.
5. No. You can be dumb as a brick .

Raiyaka asks on December 18, 2003, 4:25pm:
Taken from Peebrain's Cloaking Article:
"You can project yourself as "invisible" or something static (for example, a hedge, box, etc...). "
That sounds crazy <=| (if ive got it right. . . )
Does this means I can change appearance to something else?
Like a . . . fox?
Please explain masters o' psi :P
Rainsong replies on December 18, 2003, 11:41pm:
It isn't so much a matter of changing your appearance (or not-appearance, in the case of invisibility), as affecting how other people perceive you. Making people think you look like a fox is well within the realm of possibility, but the illusion will be incongruous if you don't act like a fox.

SawyerHickory asks on December 17, 2003, 5:25pm:
I was just wondering, do shields have a limit as to how much they can keep out? For example, when shielding, does the effectiveness depend on how strong the person makes it, or is there a sort of predetermined limit?
Rainsong replies on December 17, 2003, 8:26pm:
The upper limit is still undetermined. The factors which appear to affect "how much they can keep out" include but are not limited to the strength of the person who makes it, the person's skill, and how the shield is programmed.
walnutgum asks on December 16, 2003, 4:59pm:
kind of embaressing but, why must you draw energy? (lightning,sun,earth..) does it like make your psi ball stronger? Cause i did and it and it was more visible. Is it optional?
Rainsong replies on December 16, 2003, 7:24pm:
It is optional. Some of us simply use the stuff that seems to accumulate in our fields, and some prefer to deliberately "generate" the stuff on an as-needed basis. However, if drawing from an outside source works for you, go for it. Be aware that for some people, using "outside" energies appears to cause problems, so you might want to keep an eye on things, when experimenting.
